® Special tools: Piston clip tool
A twenty-part series

One end of the clip is inserted into the pin hole, and as the tool is rotated, it persuades the loose end of the clip into position.

Another shot of the working end. That's an element from a needle bearing that is pressed into the aluminum rod. The necked-down diameter must closely fit the inside of the wrist pin for the tool to work properly.

I made the tool extra long so it would adequately reach the inboard cylinders in a muticyinder engine.

The tool has a big comfortable handle made of Delrin.

Another shop-made tool. I copied the idea from something I saw online. Hey, that outta work! And it does. It works better than I expected. Although installing piston circlips using needle nose pliers isn't very difficult, this too works well and is especially handy when installing cylinders with the pistons already inserted.

Note: The tools depicted on this page are shown for informational and encouraging purposes. They are not for sale. Sorry. I can however advise you on sourcing.
