Low performance |
Don't tell me how your racing carburetors work better than stock. Don't say that air filter improves your engine's performance. Don't tell me your aftermarket exhaust is better. Don't insist that a camshaft helps the engine make more power. And don't tell me Dyna makes a better ignition system. Don't tell me this stuff. It's not believable. Not because those things are not possible--they are. Most of them. Definitely. However, none of this stuff means anything, and you have no credibility, until you have mastered the basics. You and I both know you believe in silver bullets and disdain preventative maintenance. Until you can make the completely stock motorcycle work its absolute best, you can't know that the mods you did are effective, or for that matter even necessary. You might have got the same result by just taking care of the machine the way it is supposed to be taken care of. Do the maintenance! If you don't know how the machine is supposed to work, how can you pretend to know how to make it better, and how can you believe installing stuff fixed anything? Fixing motorcycle problems by buying parts and kits that didn't originally come on the bike isn't high performance. It's low performance. And I don't want to hear it.
Doing the many little, uncelebrated, but vital things that make the machine work at the top of its factory design, this is high performance. This is real wrenching. This is what impresses. This shows you know what you're about. This is mechanical mastery.
