What a joy it is to ride my fifty-plus year old Honda! It's a unique pleasure I look forward to on many summer mornings, riding into the nearby mountains, enjoying the feel of the machine together with the sights and smells and atmosphere of the forest. The curvy roads, the congruance of shifting, throttle, banking and happy engine sounds. But each time when I put the bike away on my return home, I wonder. The nation's political pendulum swings ever wider with each election season. Given history, it's certain that the it's the older internal combustion machines the environmentalists will go after first. Will I be forced to give up my mechanical relic before I myself become a relic?
