Here are two connecting rods, bent as you can see. These are pretty strong parts. They don't bend so easily. The one on the left is from a Suzuki GSX1100. The one on the right is from a Honda CBX1000. If you needed a rationale for keeping that vacuum-controlled fuel valve, this is it.
