® Leaky oil pressure switches

Back in the day, it didn't take long for us line mechanics to discover that the oil pressure warning light switches on the small fours were frequently faulty. What looked like excessive chain lube dripping out from behind the countershaft cover was actually this bad switch. We noticed that these red-topped switches were seemingly always leaking, and yet the very similar CB750's black-topped switches weren't--they never leaked. So like pragmatic mechanics all over we started putting the 750 switches in the 350Fs, 400Fs, and 500s and 550s. And that solved it. No more leaks came into the shop.

Today, all you have to do is order the part number for the switch used in your small four and you automatically get the 750 version. Great, Honda. Glad we could work that out for you!   😀
