There is so much nonsense on the Internet that is perpetuated about this iconic Honda motorcycle model.

 

  • The handful of brands of aftermarket points are just as good as OEM
  • The cam chain tension is self-adjusting
  • The 0.0012" factory-specified valve clearance is reasonable
  • The CB500T runs and shakes as badly as it looks
  • Brake squeal is fixed by sanding the shoes or pads
  • The charging system is anemic
  • The bike is designed to be kick-started as much as electric-started
