17T sprocket |
So I swapped out the 16T countershsft sprocket for a 17T. Well, it almost worked. The taller gearing was successful in that a given road speed took less engine rpm so the bike was smoother and less vibey. But frankly, I missed the hard acceleration and most of all, the rapid climb into the engine's rpm sweet spot the shorter gearing offered. So back to the 16T for now, which, while more fun is also more engine buzz generating. We'll have to see later if the final, 720cc version of the engine will support taller, less vibey gearing. |
