Who is the Wrenchbender?
So, who am I? In terms of what matters, I'm a citizen of the beloved Son's kingdom (Col. 1:13), a husband, father, and forty-something sojourner in this virtual reality we call "life."
I'm also a 30+ year veteran of the motorcycle industry, who after receiving initial training through Los Angeles Trade Technical College's Motorcycle Repair Program (a two-year program among whose instructors were Joe Minton and Pat Owens), was one of the first 500 of Honda's Registered Technicians, attended most of the Big Four's factory training courses, and plied my trade as a metro L.A. area Honda mechanic and service manager, suspension tuning shop owner and performance engine builder. For 12 years the International CBX Owner's Association allowed me to serve as Technical Editor of their organ, the CBXpress, and for 10 years I was Technical Editor of the Honda Sport Touring Association's STAReview. During the early 1980s it was my privilege to work for Honda's Corporate U.S. office as a customer service analyst, and for the past 17 years I have been involved in vocational education, first as an instructor, and more recently as a curriculum developer. Presently, I am hard at work revising the Goodheart-Willcox text, Motorcycles: Fundamentals, Service, Repair. Click on the image to discover more about my family. My resume is available here.
