In the article, Lobe Center: What Is It?, we explored the definition of the term, and how the lobe center procedure came to be used to fine tune the timing of the intake valve. Now let's look at the procedure itself. The following two pages are from an article I did for the Four Stroke Single National Owners Club back in 91/92. The engine is from my own Yamaha SRX600 single, so the specific steps are relative to that type of engine. However, it should give a good idea, and the procedure is fairly standard across different engine types.
