Revised, now even better! Our most popular booklet, Cleaning the CBX Carbuetor takes the reader step by step in cleaning a set of Honda CBX 6 cylinder carburetors. Included is how to get those pesky idle jets clean, detail about the various circuits, and eliminating the troublesome air cut valve. Also, how to adjust the float level, dealing with common carburetor issues, and even how to blueprint the accelerator pump. It's an 8 1/2" by 11", 35-page booklet, containing over 130 clear illustrations, most of them close-ups. Also included are full-page diagrams of complex circuits. And, except for the location of the air cut valve and the sizes of the jets, all the carburetor servicing steps are also applicable to the early 80s DOHC CB750, CB900/1000 and CB1100, as well as the CV carb'd SOHC CB650. The valve adjustment booklet is another CBX instructional booklet. Valve adjustment may seem pretty simple, but there are some important points, and this booklet, Adjusting the CBX Valves, covers the whole valve adjustment process. Included is how to use the factory shim tools, how to do the job without having a box full of valve shims, and even the adjustment of the often troublesome cam chains. Also included is dealing with the CBX's tendancy to have poor valve sealing, and what to do about it during the valve adjustment. Everything is laid out step by step. Like the carburetor book, this is an 8 1/2" by 11" booklet, runs to 30 pages, and contains more than 80 clear, to-the-point illustrations, most of them close-ups. Also included are line drawings of critical areas. And, again, except for the index marks on the crankshaft, all the steps are equally applicable to the CBX's smaller cousins, the early 80s DOHC CB750, CB900/1000 and CB1100 Honda fours. Just $29.95 plus $4.80 to the 50 states, $9.95 Canada, $11.95 everywhere else, for fast USPS Priority Mail shipping. Combined shipping on multiple purchases. The CBX charging booklet is another very special book. Don't just throw parts at the problem until it's fixed. Do it right. Servicing the CBX Charging System will enable you to do that, by offering a close-up look at testing the CBX charging system. A bit more systematic and technical than the others, but like the rest, laid out in everyday terms. This book includes testing for bad wires and connectors, and checking common failure points in the system such as the rotor and brushes. There is also quite a bit about the use of the digial VOM and other special equipment, some of which you can make yourself. As usual, this is an 8 1/2" by 11" booklet, running to about 30 pages, and contains over 100 clear illustrations, many of them close-ups. Also included are simple drawings of the charging system, and an easy-to-follow troubleshooting flowchart. And, again, except for the location of the alternator rotor, all the steps are equally applicable to the very similarly-equipped early DOHC CB750, CB900/1000 and CB1100 Honda fours, as well as the SOHC CB650. All of this just $29.95 plus $4.80 to the 50 states, $9.95 Canada, $11.95 everywhere else, for fast USPS Priority Mail shipping. Combined shipping on multiple purchases. PayPal will automatically adjust the shipping amount when you check out. Be sure you don't click a button twice unless you mean it. Can be on your doorstep in just 3~4 days. This is the CBX shock book. Servicing the CBX Pro-Link Shock shows you how to remove and replace the shock's seal, and correctly change the shock damping fluid. Also included is how to adjust the damping fluid level to suit your conditions. This job is a lot easier than you think! But beware, neither the manual nor any other sources address this job correctly. Get the booklet and gain the confidence to do this job and to do it right. As usual, this is an 8 1/2" by 11" booklet, running to not quite 20 pages, and contains over 60 clear illustrations, many of them close-ups. And, the basic technique (if not the seal part number and fluid level specification) of servicing this shock is equally applicable to the other Honda models that used this same shock design. This includes the GL500/650, CX500/650 Turbo, and the early VF series V-Fours, (all the earliest Interceptors, plus the VF700/750S Sabre and VF1100S Sabre). Go here for a sample of what is in this booklet. Just $29.95 plus $4.80 to the 50 states, $9.95 Canada, $11.95 everywhere else, for fast USPS Priority Mail shipping. The ignition troubleshooting booklet is a handy one. Servicing the CBX Ignition System takes you step by step through finding the cause for a no-spark condition. It begins with common but very important and often overlooked visual and voltage checks, then proceeds through a simple three-step technique for accurately pinpointing the cause of the trouble. Not as technical as the charging booklet, but similarly systematic in approach. And like the others, this is an 8 1/2" by 11" booklet, runs to 25 pages, and contains scores of clear, to-the-point illustrations, most of them close-ups. Also included are line drawings for better understanding. And, all these steps are equally applicable to the identical ignition system on the early 80s DOHC CB750, CB900/1000 and CB1100 Honda fours, as well as the SOHC CB650, and later GL500 and GL650, and in fact, 95 percent of the Honda road bikes made between 1979 and 1990. All of these machines use the same electronic ignition system. Just $29.95 plus $4.80 to the 50 states, $9.95 Canada, $11.95 everywhere else, for fast USPS Priority Mail shipping. Combined shipping on multiple purchases. PayPal will automatically adjust the shipping amount when you check out. Be sure you don't click a button twice unless you mean it. Head gasket leaking oil? This is a common maintenance need on all the older Honda SOHC fours, but especially the venerable CB750. Replacing the Honda SOHC 750 Head Gasket takes you step-by-step through replacing the head gasket. You'll learn about the correct tools and procedures, how to inspect for wear of associated parts, and how to repair stripped threads, all of this as it relates to this important task. And don't think that this booklet is simply about the head gasket. It also contains valuable tips on checking for engine oil leaks of any kind, potential problem areas in the top end of this engine, the use of special tools such as the factory Honda piston ring compressors, the proper use of sealants, measuring the critical engine parts that are apart when the head gasket is replaced, proper bolt torquing procedures, and the correct way to adjust the cam chain. The focus of this booklet is the very methodical approach. Fully half of this 8 1/2" by 11", 40-page booklet is devoted to careful inspection and reassembly. Over 140 clear illustrations, most of them close-ups. And as usual, the book is just $29.95 plus $4.80 to the 50 states, $9.95 Canada, $11.95 everywhere else, for fast USPS Priority Mail shipping. One of the ways you can tell when the SOHC engine needs a new cam chain is when there is a gradual loss of power over a long time (due to cam timing lag). Replacing the Honda SOHC 750 Cam Chain shows you how to check the cam chain, and then proceeds with the step-by-step replacement of this important part. You'll learn about the correct tools and procedures, how to inspect for wear of associated parts, and how to repair stripped threads, all of this as it relates to this important task. And don't think that this booklet is simply about the cam chain. Since the right way is to split the cases, this book therefore also contains valuable tips on how to properly separate the engine cases, inspecting the transmission, checking the oil pump, potential problem areas such as the alternator wiring and transmission linkage, the proper use of sealants, determining the wear of critical engine parts, the importance of the neutral switch, proper bolt torquing procedures, and avoiding common assembly mistakes. There's even a concise tutorial on how the transmission works! The focus of this booklet is the very methodical approach. Fully half of this 8 1/2" by 11", 40-page booklet is devoted to inspection and reassembly. Over 140 clear illustrations, most of them close-ups.
